The Kiwix Reader allows you to access content packages in the ZIM format that are stored on your phone or computer. It is available for all major operating systems. It comes as a standalone application or as a browser plug-in. Simply choose below what suits you best.
With most versions of Kiwix, you can download content packages from within the application. However, for macOS, Chrome and Firefox, you have to download ZIM files separately.
For your desktop/notebook computer
You will need this to read zim files created after May 2018. Download and unpack anywhere on your hard drive or on a USB flash drive to use it. It’s a beta version -meaning not the final perfect, beautiful release we all are working on-, but it should do the job.
Requirements: Kiwix for Windows is a 64-bit application and supports Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or later. If your machine is older than 2006, you won’t be able to use it.
Download this DMG file, mount it by double clicking, and copy the Kiwix app to your Applications folder.
Kiwix can run on almost every operating system, but we don’t provide pre-compiled binaries for all of them. You may download the source code and compile Kiwix on your own.
For your tablet or smartphone
This Kiwix version is compatible with iPhones and iPads running iOS 8 or higher.
Also works on Xbox.
