Kiwix Applications - Access Knowledge Offline on Various Platforms- Kiwix

Kiwix is available as a native application for Android, Linux, Mac OS, iOS and Windows operating systems. It is also available as Chrome, Firefox and Edge extensions. Content files can be downloaded from the apps or from the library.

Last but not least, you can also install it on Raspberry Pi and create your own offline hotspot.

    Kiwix JS is a smaller alternative. It can be used as an offline-first Progressive Web App in your browser. There is a also Windows Store (UWP) version for Windows 10 or 11 tablets, phones, PC and Xbox, and an Electron app compatible with all Windows (XP, Vista, Win7/8/10/11) .

    Download the .appimage file, then set executable permissions and execute it. Or follow the instructions on the Flathub page.

    You can also find distro-specific packages for Debian and Ubuntu.
    If you are running Debian or Ubuntu, kiwix can be installed by running the command sudo apt install kiwix For Archlinux, you can install using sudo pacman -S kiwix-desktop Fedora users can install it by running sudo dnf install kiwix-desktop

    WikiMed mini has the same number of entries but in order to save on storage space it is limited to the leade and infobox (without images), which makes it about 85% smaller.

    Kiwix Server is a .zim compatible web server: it allows you to deliver .zim files over the HTTP protocol within your local network – be it a University or your own house. Simply start Kiwix-Serve on your machine, and your content will be available for anybody through their web browser.

    Kiwix Server is provided as a self-contained binary in the Kiwix-Tools suite, which you can download below.
