Kiwix est un logiciel libre développé pour distribuer une version de Wikipédia hors connexion (voir les fonctionnalités). Kiwix sait lire tout fichier au format ZIM, un format ouvert de fichier très compressé.

- kelson: !Kiwix PPA/DEB bug fixed. If you're impacted, please update your package cache and reinstall the software (version 0.9-alpha5.1 or upper).
- kelson: Big problem, !Kiwix does not work after a PPA update: http://tinyurl.com/2wytf5u . Workaround: remove and reinstall package. Fix comes ASAP.

- kelson: @cristiancantoro Be patient :) I'm working on it. This will take from a few days to 2 weeks and announced, when finished, on !kiwix.
- kelson: !Kiwix, A WP 0.701 ZIM release is on rails with #wikitrust auto-selected new revisions of the ~30.000 articles big selection in English.
- kelson: We have now an !Kiwix Ubuntu PPA, Thx to @jag2kn. To use it, simply run this command line: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kiwixteam/ppa
- kelson: Introduced the metatag management in !Kiwix, on both writer/reader sides. I can now deal with language-specific behaviours...

- 2010-04-22 : J'ai sorti la version de Kiwix 0.9 alpha1. Cette version bénéficie de nombreuses améliorations en comparaison avec la version 0.8. En particulier, cette version fonctionne aussi avec MS Windows. Vous pouvez trouver la liste des améliorations ici. Vous pouvez aussi télécharger la version pour windows avec la sélection WP1 0.7 anglophone avec 30.000 articles.
- 2010-03-28 : Kiwix compile de nouveau sous Windows... mais cette fois le processus est vraiment simple et documenté.
- 2010-02-15 : J'ai publié la version 0.8 finale. Je ne travaillais plus dessus depuis des mois et aucun bug n'a été rapporté dans la dernière version de test. On se retrouve bientôt pour la première alpha de 0.9.
- 2010-01-23 : Première version dans le SVN de kiwix-serve, un serveur HTTP permettant de servir un ZIM et avec moteur de recherche - demo.
